Have you played in a particular group or involved in a particular performance that you would like to mention?

• Accepted into as one of two clarinettists in the state youth orchestra for two years (WAYO, 2022-24).

• Played in local church band since 2018 playing piano, guitar, clarinet and singing.

• Organised, arranged and played in a band for the WA Christian student conference for more than 300 people.

 

What are your strengths as a piano teacher?

I love to arrange music with students, from film scores to the latest pop music.

Having great experience playing in bands and orchestras, I enjoy helping students grow in their skills as a band member.

​

As the top student in ATAR Music at my specialist music high school, I also have a passion for music theory and history and like to incorporate these elements in lessons.

 

What do you like about teaching piano?

I love seeing students improve musically but also grow in their personal determination and love of music.

​

I especially love helping students discover what musical styles and pieces they enjoy playing.

 

Is there anything else that you would like to add?

Having been taught piano by Julia Sykes since the age of 6, I am very comfortable teaching through the Sykes program and have personally seen the many benefits of the Sykes program.
